auawirleben goes out into the public space. The festival has always done that, but this time we are really settling down there. Our Festival Centre is located on Waisenhausplatz and serves as a place for the audience, the artists, the crews and the festival team to hang out during the day until the evening performances start.

In order to have enough time to meet, talk about the festival and other things and then slowly move on to private matters, we already open the Festival Centre at lunchtime this year. And after lunch, it's straight into the aperitif with delicious snacks to make sure you don’t have to watch the shows hungry. Dinner after the performances is served in our Festival Club at Grosse Halle. Everything is purely plant-based.

This is the 40th edition of auawirleben! That's reason enough to celebrate every day, and always for exactly 40 minutes. Not a minute more - and more importantly: not a minute less! With each of these instant parties, we don't just want to celebrate auawirleben, but the values that are important to us.
